'river to sea' 1 finished

Update from green-ware to.... I hope finished.


The distressed patination is new for me and I hope it's similiar to an old sea shell...

The series was based on the expression of release.
Initially this work was inspired by the dying Buddha.
I wanted also to suggest a lightness of energy..or bliss..a feeling of letting go..the experience of giving birth..being taken away by music..falling in love..crossing a pain barrier..being one with your chosen art expression..where ego steps back and a larger takes over.

I have used the sea shell as a metaphor for this work. The seashell is both supported by and buffeted by the ocean. The surface is softened by experience...and eventually the creature inside grows and has to move out..or release itself.
